Nature holds a quiet strength and grace within it's beauty. A dimension that few notice, let alone take the time to admire. These qualities are captured for those less in tune to appreciate through local artist Vinzon Lee's Eye.

Vinzon's career in photography started as a hobby when he was fourteen years old. Growing up in Manila, Philippines, his skill grew with his passion. He immigrated to the United States in 1972 and attended the New York Institute of Photography. Vinzon began enjoying a successful career in commercial photography.

Vinzon's work includes promotional photographs for bands, actors, rappers, and corporations. He is the art director and Vice President of Sunrise Photography. Vinzon also works in fashion photography, and does portraits for celebrities.

Wedding portfolios are a portion of his business, also. Vinzon's attention to detail and flair for original, creative scenes and layout make his services in this department extremely sought after. He photographs bridal parties from around the U.S. and the world as well. Vinzon recently returned from photographing a wedding in Italy.

No matter who Vinzon is hired to capture on film, he begins with an interview of his subject. He invests this time to fully comprehend the individuality and chemistry of his client, which he creatively infuses into his photo shoot. Their expectations and intentions for their portfolio

are also considered. The results of this interview determine the location of the shoot, which is scheduled for another time. This careful attention to detail and planning insures a wonderfully unique portfolio that exudes the client's character and style.

For his bridal packages, Vinzon often includes a custom made humidor-type box. He creates these himself, by hand, from hardwood. The box houses a selected group of matted photographs, usually 24 or 36. They are lifted out by a ribbon running underneath the bottom frame, and can be passed around to be enjoyed by guests; a delightfully distinct experience from the usual album. A small easel is included to display an individual photo. To personalize this treasure, Vinzon laser burns a photo of the bride and groom on the cover of the box.

It's plain to see, Vinzon's creativitiy and talent does not end in his own darkroom. He also makes his own frames for some of his work, and has used his expertise in woodworking to make custom cabinetry in a summer kitchen in his home. He also made a magnificent, hardwood table with matching chairs and a hutch.
